10 Aug How To Show Your Best Self Using Your Favorite Photos

Every Egowall user can choose from 16 living spaces and hundreds of custom-made furniture items across several styles.

They can use these in any combination to assemble a 3D online environment that provides a representation of their best selves to the world.

These depictions are – in large part – a result of the photos, digital art and other materials that you display within your spaces.

In this blog post, we want to provide a bit of an overview of how to manage those digital assets via the following short videos (each less than one minute).

The topics to be discussed are

• Changing Photo Names and Descriptions
• Liking/Leaving Comments on a Photo

Placing Photos and Digital Art

When initially placed on a wall, photos and other images are assigned a default black metal frame and have a visible white matte.

At any time after an image is placed, you can change its standard frame to one of the following color and material options, as illustrated in the video below:

• Light Wood
• White Plastic
• Tan Plastic
• Red Plastic
• Orange Plastic
• Black Plastic
• Stripe Material
• Light Metal
• Contemporary Brown Metal
• Contemporary Black Metal
• No Frame

Resizing Photos and Frames

Much like scalable furniture objects, digital files placed in standard frames can be resized, as follows:

Picture Scaling/Resizing

1. Click on one of the Quick Set options to quickly resize the picture within the frame (and make corresponding changes to the size of the matte as well).
2. Click the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to resize the image in a more granular fashion.

Frame Scaling/Resizing

1. Click on one of the Quick Set options to quickly resize the frame in all directions.
2. Click the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to resize the frame in a more granular fashion.
3. Click and drag the visible axes to resize the frame.

Changing Photo Names and Descriptions

When imported into Egowall, pictures retain their original file name and the description field is left blank.

Provide your visitors with additional information about the photos and images you choose to display by changing their names and adding a description to each one.

These actions can explain why they are meaningful or significant to you.

You can edit the name and description of any digital image – whether it is still stored in its container or has been placed in a room, as seen in the video at right above.

Liking / Leaving Comments on a Photo

Part of the fun of looking at photos that your friends have shared on any social platform is to indicate your approval and/or leave comments about the picture(s).

We offer that opportunity as well.

You can like any placed photo or image or leave feedback about it as you encounter them in our game.

This includes both your own images as well as those you come across while visiting spaces owned by your connections.
