Find Out If YOUR Pictures Are Worth 1000 Words

As we continue our series of posts about enhancements to the Egowall user interface,  today we’re going to talk about Photo and Image Management.

Most of us have outstanding cameras with us at all times in the form of our smartphones. It’s no surprise then that we’re taking more pictures than ever.

We document our travels and family activities and share them to Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and other services.

Egowall is designed to provide you with another great way to showcase and share those images.

If you place them in your living spaces, they will never scroll out of sight and never be subject to the whims of an algorithm you don’t understand and cannot fully control.

They will always be available for visitors to the space(s) to see.

Let’s see how you can make that happen.

Adding Photos / Images

Any photo or image to be placed in the game must first be stored in one of the available multimedia storage objects (MMSO) or containers.

To add photos or images into a container, follow these steps:

Container Contents Before Adding Photos

  1. Click the Media button at the lower left of the user interface.
  2. Use the drop down list to select the desired Theme / container type (e.g., Photos | Snapshots).
  3. Click on one of the available containers to display its contents
  4. Click the Add Photos button above the photos (see image at right).
  5. Select one or more photos or images to add to the container (NOTE: only .jpg and .png files are supported).
  6. Watch as the photos / images are uploaded into the container and become visible among the contents of the container.

Placing Photos / Images

Once your photos and images have been successfully imported into a container, you can place them in any room in the current space by following these steps:

Adding a Photo to a Living Space

  1. Navigate to the desired room
  2. Click the Media button at lower left of the user interface.
  3. Use the drop down list to select the desired Theme / Container type (e.g., Photos | Snapshots).
  4. Click on the container which contains the photo or image you want to place in the room.
  5. Click on the photo / image you want to place in the room to display its Photo Detail Panel.
  6. Click the Add to Space button.
  7. Click on the desired Grid Snapping resolution (Large/Medium/Small/Off).
  8. Move the cursor to the spot in the room where you want to place the photo or image; the picture will follow the cursor.
  9. Once you’ve settled on the proper position for the object, click anywhere in the UI to place it; the Move button on the Palette Toolbar will remain active.

Editing Photo / Image Information
