Colonial Furniture Looks Good Anywhere

Traditional Decorative Sofa

Over the past half year or so, we have shared images of dozens of the 3D furniture objects available for Egowall members to use in decorating their living spaces to their specific taste and interests.

But to date, we have not shared any selections from our Colonial furniture collection.

To address that oversight, this week we have begun posting a new Colonial furniture image to our Instagram account every other day (generally, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).

According to Merriam-Webster, colonial furniture was “made in the American colonies before the end of the Revolution and [was] large influenced by contemporary European styles (as the Queen Anne and Georgian) but [has] some indigenous features (such as greater variety in woods and more extensive use of turnings).

Colonial style (generally originating in the period from approximately 1700-1780) combines characteristics of William and Mary, Queen Anne, and Chippendale.

Colonial furniture tended to be more conservative and less ornate than English and European furniture of the same style period.

And Egowall is happy to make available more than fifty pieces of colonial furniture for placement in any of our sixteen living spaces.

Above at right you can see a couple of the images we are highlighting this week on Instagram – the beautiful Globe Stand w/Globe – Brown and Traditional Decorative Sofa – Red.

And the gallery below includes several screen captures from our Colonial Showcase public space, in which we highlight both one of our most unique living spaces and a large number of our colonial furniture pieces.

Scroll through the images below and then visit the showcase to get a full 3D perspective on how our colonial furniture looks up close.

Then sign up for a free account and start documenting your memories, interests and achievements with Egowall, where you can always Be The Real You™.
