Everything Old Is New Again

It’s bonus week here on The Egowall Blog.

Well, that’s not totally accurate.

It’s really “catch-up” week.

Since we were unable to publish our most popular Instagram image post last week, we are including the image which would have been shared then in this post.

So, for no additional charge, you get a”two-fer.”

For the last several weeks, we have been sharing images from our collection of Retro furniture objects.

We appreciate how well they have been received, as they are among our favorite pieces of furniture in the Egowall game

In this post-“Mad Men” world, the retro look – or more formally, mid-century modern design – seems to be everywhere.

Wikipedia tells us that mid-century modern is “an architectural, interior, product and graphic design that describes mid-20th century developments in modern design, architecture and urban development from roughly 1933 to 1965.”

This style is “recognized by scholars and museums worldwide as a significant design movement.”

And Egowall is proud to make available nearly sixty unique pieces of retro (or mid-century modern, if you prefer) furniture for use in decorating any of our sixteen living spaces.

Two of those pieces were the most popular posts on our Instagram feed over the past two weeks.

For the week of September 12-18, 2016, the Nightstand – Light Brown object shown above at right received the highest user engagement.

Click on the picture to better examine the detail in the nightstand’s wood-grain finish and brushed nickel handles.

Imagine how great it would look in your virtual bedroom, especially when paired with a compatible bed and table lamp.

Then for the week of September 19-25, 2016, our Instagram followers really liked the Ceiling Light w/Shades object seen at right.

Click on the image to see it in more detail, and observe the texture of the shade.

Close your eyes … can’t you just see – and feel – the warm yellow glow of incandescent light illuminating the room through the shades?

What a neat step back in time.

I guess that everything old IS new again.

We’re posting images like these daily on Instagram (and Pinterest) to help them be seen by a larger audience.
